If the modern hamburger is German, then spaghetti is Arabian (Italians didn't invent pasta). The Hamburg steak is nothing like the image you all think of when you imagine a hamburger today.

Did you find the reference to hamburger in the book ‘the epicurean’ ? 1907 I think was the production date for the book. But they reference a flank steak style beating meat dish. Very interesting
