Never in a million years would I imagine I’d end up inside Buckingham Palace, let alone meeting the King and the Emperor of Japan.
And yet somehow tonight, I found myself celebrating UK-Japan relations at a State Banquet shaking hands and chatting with King Charles, Emperor Naruhito, as well as a former British Prime Minister (and a very soon to be Prime Minister).
All absurdly surreal - especially the concept of me wearing smart clothing.
Looking forward to chatting more about it when I get back to Tokyo, but absolutely a night I’ll never forget. Many thanks as always guys for watching! Good lord, what a journey it’s been.
