Our school, as it's in the totality zone, is organising a special event and is giving free glasses to every student!

My husband and I drove from Cleveland Ohio to Virginia Beach in 1970 to see the Total Eclipse. In 2017, we intended to go to Madras OR to see it there, but he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and we couldn't travel as planned. Now, I am back in Ohio where I grew up to see this again. The date of the eclipse will be exactly 5 years since my husband passed away!

Sadly in North Texas here, weather is predicted to be 100% cloud cover. WORST possible time for clouds ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Edit: update it's now expected to be high thin clouds with a chance of visibility through the clouds. Not great, but better than not being able to see anything at all!

I was on a boat about a mile offshore a couple of decades ago. Minutes before the total eclipse happened, the sea went glassy and two dolphins swam slowly up to the boat. When it came, it happened fast, and as the darkness hurtled towards me it seemed to thunder through my soul. Then at the same time the sun rose on the opposite horizon. For one crazy moment I was looking at a simultaneous sunset and sunrise. Breathtaking.

Bummed to miss it. But I saw the one in 2017 and will never forget it. Hoping to travel to see a few in the coming years.

Video suggestion: Would you consider putting a camera on a weather balloon during the eclipse? Just curious as to what one would look like from way up high.

I’m lucky enough to be pretty damn close to totality, it’s my second eclipse since 2017 and I’m only 20 lmao

For the younger generation it's absolutely amazing, but as a old country fart who's seen a few of these, I Praise my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, for another day, and His Awe, and Wonders, looking forward to the spectacular scenery we'll have in Heaven. AMEN.

Watching from near the Canadian border in Maine. Two families, 25 people, all really excited to experience this together.

Went to France to watch a total eclipse, wish I could be in the US for this one. Just a small tip keep an eye on the weather and be prepared to move location if possible, we had a map of the line of totality so we could find a location with clear skies, to all those going to watch this one you are in for a real amazing experience 😃

Howdy hi hi, Back in the early 90's while returning to work from lunch. I got to see the shadow of the moon progress across the landscape right in front of me. It was quite the experience. This time the shadow will pass far to the east of where I live so I say to everyone who has the chance don't miss it.
