I have a Volt. I took it from Louisiana to Colorado and back. I know it's not a pure EV but considering I drive my Volt 90 miles a day and I use a third of a gallon of fuel, I'd say >90% of my normal driving is EV. Makes long trips seamless and still efficient. GM shouldn't have dropped the line.

We recently bought a new EV6, the cousin of the IONIQ 5. It will be interesting to see what it will be like to take it out of southern California later in the year when I make a semi-regular trip to Tucson. I'll check out the vid.

I know you have the answer for this. I'm so close to calling the governing body on this topic. Do EV brake lights go on when regeneration? I'm q trick driver and i have noticed the amount of times where the EV is slowing down as if brakes were to be applied. This is dangerous, especially when I see videos on EV cars not even needing the brakes .

I do cross European road trips and charging was never something I worry about. Even the most obscure locations far from home have DC chargers. Not always 350kW like here in The Netherlands, but 50kW is even in rural Eastern Europe not that impossible to find. Main issue is still, excluding Germany, that there are too many providers. I have 5 cards so I can charge with most chargers when I am outside NL / Germany. And sometimes they don't even work and payment with QR/creditcard is broken.

Hi! As an owner of a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, I was wondering if you have any opinion on the quality control for your Ioniq 5? I've seen generally positive things about hyundai's recent EVs but from personal experience I have deep reservations about the quality of the wiring and electronics in their cars. I can't help thinking ''OK but are we going to see lots of problems with these cars 5 years from now?'', as my Sonata has been developing several serious issues(most of which I've remedied), starting around the 80k mark. Do you think Hyundai as a brand has improved the quality of their cars since 2014?
