Devi Sri Prasad is the leading South Indian music composer, playback singer and lyricist in Telugu and Tamil films. DSP as he is popularly known scored music for almost every Top Movie Star in South India and his collaborations with all of them have resulted in some scintillating music.
His music has become popular beyond south, transcending linguistic barriers. DSP's passion for music and his energy to perform his music on stage have few parallels in South India.
Most of his songs follow a simple rhythmic pattern and orchestration without overproduction. He is adept in composing fast-paced, peppy numbers with catchy hooks which become a rage among the youth and masses. DSP derives inspirations from folk music. Apart from composing, he sang some of his tracks too.
