The Supreme Court has announced a National Task Force that shall make actions plans on two heads,
- preventing violence including gender based violence against medical professionals,
- providing an enforceable national protocol for dignified and safe working conditions for interns, residents, senior residents, doctors etc.

The Supreme Court also noted that this is "a systemic issue" and not just one case alone.

These exotic wildlife species were seized from a passenger in Chennai:

🦦The recovery was made from an Indian passenger, identified as Mohamed Meera Sardharali.

🦧He had arrived in Chennai by a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok on 10 August.

🐍He was arrested and remanded to judicial custody under the provisions of the Customs Act and the Wildlife Protection Act.

🦫One keeled box turtle and one red foot tortoise were also recovered.

🦇Customs officials said the species were listed in Schedule IV of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, which designates certain animal species for protection.

🫎According to a TOI report, Chennai recently emerged as a major centre for the illegal exotic pet trade, with the market valued at around Rs. 1,000 crore.

Yaylagul Ramazanova delivered an astonishing performance for her country of Azerbaijan during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics in archery all while seven months pregnant, showcasing the extraordinary power of motherhood and athleticism.

Yaylagul Ramazanova, a 34-year-old first-time Olympian, is only the second archer to represent Azerbaijan at the Olympics.

Ramazanova’s Olympic journey began with a strong performance in the initial rounds. Competing in the women’s singles competition, she faced Chinese archer An Qixuan in the 1/32 elimination round. The match was intense, ending in a 5-5 tie and forcing a shoot-off. In a dramatic finish, Ramazanova emerged victorious by shooting a 10 against An’s 9.

Despite her strong start, Ramazanova’s Olympic campaign came to an end in the 1/16 round, where she was eliminated by Germany’s Michelle Kroppen. Although she did not advance further, her performance left a lasting impression.
